There’s not a whole lot to say about this run. It was a race, but it wasn’t competitive, it wasn’t timed, and it is way more fun to goof off than run. I walked with Caleb, Tylor, and Kelsey although I probably could have run instead. My blister, which is now really more of a giant scab of dead skin, was bugging me a little, even though I made sure to tie my shoes nice and tight. But it doesn’t matter; we showed up planning to walk anyway.
Kyndall and Lily ran with my mom, and Nate and Ian ran together. Ian pushed too hard, making himself sick. Hopefully that kid learns how to pace himself, soon!
Before the race started, I got all the kids together and
told them I wanted “Before” photos while they were clean and their shirts were
white. They got in a group and Kelsey had the camera. I was behind them, like I
was posing for the picture with them, but I secretly grabbed my powder packet
and opened it. While they were posing for the photo, I dumped orange powder all
over them. It was hilarious. They totally were not expecting it, especially
since as I handed out theirs, I told them they were not allowed to open them
until the end of the race where they were supposed to explode them in the huge
crowd with all the other race finishers. That was probably the highlight of the
day, for me.
