My Journey - Week 57

July 2 - 8
Monday was a good day. I tried out a morning run before work instead of my late evening runs. It's been so hot that running in the evening doesn't sound too fun because it really hasn't cooled down enough. I kinda liked it. It was still cool, and I had plenty of time to still get ready and to work on time. I am a little concerned about running before breakfast as I continue to increase my time/distance but I guess I can see how it goes and switch back to evenings if it's not working out. It was a 7 minute run and although I made it past the stop sign that's been my visual goal for a few runs now, I still only made it .52 miles. That was a much slower pace than my 5 minute run. Maybe it was the early morning run with no breakfast? Hard to say. But Monday night, Jerry and I did a mile just to push for some added distance because we were coming up on a race Wednesday. I made him push me to run the full first 7 minutes again, which proved to be harder than I thought after running that morning. I could really feel it. It took 6.5 minutes do go half a mile, and then I had a 2 minute walk before jogging the last little bit, and I finished the mile in 14:57. Wednesday we did a 4th of July race and although I showed up with a PR goal mindset, I changed it to training again. I think I could have done it, but my sister was with me and I really wanted to stay with her and help her through her race. She hasn't been training much but wants to start so I held back and helped her push herself. That was all the running I did this week.
