My Journey - Week 5

June 20th - 26th
Another good week with two more work outs behind me. That's 9 so far, and I'm really starting to feel better. Stronger, healthier, and more energy :) Thursday after I spent a grueling hour with Wanda, I came home to make dinner and take Caleb to his baseball game. We got home around 8, and while the kids were getting ready for bed, my sister, Deanna, who's staying with us for the summer (as my awesome Nanny!) decided she wanted to try out the gym. We'd added her to our membership so she could take the kids swimming during the day, and she's never gone to work out before. So I said good night to the kids, and took her to the gym to show her how to use the machines. We did about 20 minutes of the machines, before heading up to the cardio room where she tried out the elliptical and the bikes. While she was ride a stationary bike, I jogged 2 laps around the track! Yay me! I hate running, but I wanted to see if I could do it... and I did! Two laps isn't a long distance but it's more than I could have done a few weeks ago! Then after that I jumped on a bike with my sister and we did some trail rides on the attached game monitor. I ended up on a 6 mile "moderate" course with big hills and I kicked butt! I didn't finish it, because I was a little worried I wouldn't be able to walk on Friday, but it was getting late too. That trip was a big deal for me. Not only did I work out with my trainer for an hour (something I was feeling guilty about, time wise, at the start of our sessions), but I also spent another hour at the gym that day. Devoting the time to me and my health has been nearly as big a struggle as the workouts themselves. So I'm feeling proud of my accomplishments this week :)
