What a week : ) In a good way, though… Monday I was relieved that I stayed on schedule last week, so I could have fun dressing up my kids and taking them trick or treating without feeling guilty that I was behind on a run. Tuesday I worked out with Wanda and did my run. The kids were being uncooperative turds for the run though – 2 didn’t want to run, and were very vocal about it; 1 decided to take their sweet time getting ready while we all waited in the yard; and 3 decided that kicking snow and sliding across ice was more fun. So it was very distracting for me since I make them run ahead of me where I can supervise. I spent most of my run telling them to knock it off! Kids. Wednesday was a much needed rest day, and Thursday was a much better run day. We had a chance to talk to the kids and let them know that we were holding them accountable for the decision they made to train with us for the 5k running. I think it helped to improve their attitude a little bit. We did our run, and they were much better behaved, which made my life way easier. I seem to have a harder time with my run when I can’t concentrate on it. Friday was another workout with Wanda, and she promised to be nice : ) We did a lot more stretching exercises than normal, and our sets were for 45 seconds instead of a whole minute. It really did make a difference. Saturday was my 5k… first one ever. I was nervous and excited at the same time. It went well, and I ended up really enjoying it. I’m actually looking forward to doing more, and am already planning my new training schedule to increase my speed, and work up to a 10k in May! Sunday was Day 1 of my 9th week… almost done. I wasn’t going to do it, because of my 5k yesterday, but decided to give it a shot anyway. Instead of pushing myself to go faster during the run, I challenged myself to try and keep a steady pace. It went pretty well : ) Now I just hope that I’m not way super sore tomorrow!
Oh, and I finally lost 2 pounds! Yay!!!
