I ran my second official 5k today, with all my kids, my mom, and my sister. It was pretty crazy – lots of fresh snow on the ground made the drive pretty nasty. But we got there with just barely enough time to get our race packets, stow our bags, and get to the start line as they were getting ready to fire the gun. The path marked out for the run was icy, and snow packed from the run waves that started before ours, which made it kinda scary to run on, but we did it anyway. I finished the race, and came in seconds under my first race time, though, so it was still a victory! My mom ran/walked with Lily so I didn’t have to worry about her keeping up or me slowing to wait, and the other kids all run faster than me so they were all at the finish line cheering for me when I showed up. Even though it was a slippery run, we all had fun and are looking forward to doing another one, on dryer ground! Official Chip time – 50:15
