MyJourney - Week 20


Oct. 17th – 23rd
I got my Day 1 run in on Monday, as promised, but I didn’t get my Day 3 run on schedule. I Swear. I really need to get back on schedule. I worked out with Wanda on Tuesday (Run Day 3), and I was (menstrual) cramping so bad after that I wimped out and didn’t want to go out and run in the cold. In my defense, it dropped to 45º before I would have made it out the door. Anyway, I did make it up on Wednesday, and ran again on Thursday to get caught back up, only to find out that I wasn’t actually caught up. Sigh. I did finally reach my 1 mile goal that I set last summer, though. My goal was to be able to run a mile, nonstop by the end of summer, 2011. I only missed by a couple months! I have to admit, up until this week, I didn’t really enjoy it while I was running, but I did look forward to it, and I’m glad I did it when I’d finish. This week, I’ve been totally kicking myself for not getting my runs in when I should, and I’m even kinda starting to enjoy it a little while I’m doing it. I missed my Day 1 Sunday run, again, but I’m not going to let that set me up for a repeat of these last couple weeks. I may just “cheat” and switch my Day 1 to Mondays, instead!

***Update: I was looking at the running schedule and finally figured out why this week was so messed up. Last week, when I ran my Day 5 on Saturday, I thought I was catching up on a rest day, but turns out that week added a Day 7 and I totally missed that. So I thought I was running my Day 1 on Monday this week, but I was actually running my Day 7 from the previous week. The good news is now I know that I don’t always have two rest days at the end of the week anymore, to catch up if I get off on my schedule… good to know!  Now if I could just stay on schedule…
