October 24th - 30th
Running was better this week. I ran Monday to make up for Sunday, but then stayed on Schedule by running Tuesday after my workout, even though I didn’t want to because it was so cold! We had a big snow storm on Wednesday, but it was a rest day, so I didn’t have to worry about that. I ran on Thursday, and that was a huge confidence booster / attitude adjustment for me. It was a 16 minute run, and I just didn’t feel like doing it. No reason, I just didn’t want to go. For the first half, I just wanted to turn around and go home, which I realize is silly because halfway through and turning back still would equal a 16 minute run. But then I did decide I could just finish it out since I was already halfway done, and while I was out there anyway I decided it was time to start pushing myself to run a little harder/faster more and more each run. Towards the last 2 minutes of my run, the adrenaline kicked in or something, because I felt great – like I could just keep on going. It was an awesome feeling. This week was a 4 run day week instead of a 3, and I didn’t screw that up! So we had two 17 minute runs, back to back on Saturday and Sunday which also went well.
