It occurred to me, last weekend, that I had about 7 weeks left until the 5 mile race I signed up for right before I decided to stop signing up for races until I started training again. Well, 5 miles is kinda intimidating still, anyway, and my last one was so hard on me (mentally and physically) that I wanted to make sure this one went a lot better. Well, as promised, I ran this week, in a true effort to regain my training schedule. I'm really looking forward to this race, and although I don't have an official time goal, I do have a goal to run more than half of this one. All would be nice, but we will see how that goes. Since this is only my second 5 mile race, and I pretty much walked the majority of my first 5 mile race, it shouldn't be hard to get a PR. :) I've got a plan in place to get my training back on track, and I'm really hoping to build up to a 4 mile run by race day. I ran on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday this week. Two 7 minute runs and two 8 minute runs. I've continued to keep my pace a little higher, pushing myself out of my comfort zone a little, and I've seen a little improvement in my endurance. I'm going to keep pushing. I can do it!
