I’m trying to keep myself motivated with the running, and the best way to do that is to sign up for races. I don’t mind the training, once I get out on the road, but getting on the road’s been a bit of a challenge lately. The races are really fun to me, even though I’m not super competitive. I still really enjoy racing against myself and pushing to beat my previous times. So, to keep myself going I’ve signed up for several races in the next couple of months, including some with increasing distances to get myself to that 10k goal by the end of May. And it looks like I’ll have completed the 6 races I resolved to do this year, by June! Here’s my current schedule:
3/17 (5k) “Sharin’ o’ the Green”
*Still deciding what to sign up for in April, but there will be something – probably the Flying Pig race on 4/15 or the Journey Quest race on 4/21 depending on the kids participation interests*
5/13 (9k) “Title Nine” Mother’s Day Race
5/26 (5k) “The Color Run”
5/28 (10k) “Bolder Boulder” – Not actually registered for this one yet, but I’m committed. I’m just waiting so I can pay for some other races that are sooner, since the price on this one doesn’t go up for a while yet.
6/23 or 6/24 – need a race to run with my bestest friend! Slacker half (4mile course?)
