Wow, I have to say – that has got to be the most crowded 5k I’ve ever done. I had no clue! Despite the crowd and the fact that I’ve done very little running (and even less effort when I did) since the {Heart Half 10K} , the race went pretty darn well. I can tell that Kettlebell has made a positive difference. I walked much less of the race than I have been lately and I felt pretty good. I spent a lot of the race weaving between and around people the entire race, which definitely slowed me down, frustrated me, and I think it wore me out a little more than if I had been free to keep running. Jerry ran it with me, though, and that was fun. He pushes me to try harder than when I push myself. We ended up finishing in 45 minutes flat – just 3 seconds slower than my best. Darn those crowds! I absolutely lost more than 3 seconds with all the weaving I did. Oh well. I guess it’s time to start farther up in the pack instead of starting in the back.
